Small Town Scripture by Brett Gordon

Blessed be the small town girl
Who dreams of city lights,
Chinatowns, and metro cards.

Holding church in her hammock
Under the pin oak named Sam.
Sun blessed and sacred breeze.

A sacrament of homemade
Lemonade and handpicked berries.
A testament to small town living.

She’ll leave for flights and city life
But she’ll return, prodigal daughter
Seeking fireflies and redemption.
