I Am a Warrior by Carrie Murray

This is what I am learning.
Like the 10 lepers healed on the way to the temple, faith makes us whole. Thoughts are the building blocks of faith. An affirmation is a conscious, intentional thought solidifying the foundation of a work that is or is being completed by and through the power of love.      — Carrie Murray

I Am a Warrior

I woke up one day and wondered why
I still felt so lost after all this time.
I’ve traveled the same circle all my life
Always the same at the end.

But I am a warrior

I am being led to overcome.
This internal war is bigger than me.
Generations before me have been where I am.
Once I swore it would end with me.

Because I am a warrior

Before I can really win this fight,
I’m learning I have to rewrite
The words and thoughts stuck in my head,
The ones that shame me, the ones that condemn

Am I really a warrior?

With the sword of truth and hope in my heart
I travel my rutted circle again.
I walk with a different purpose this time
I desire a new song to sing.

A song of a victorious warrior

A new song that sings of freedom and love
About who I am and who I’m to be.
I raise my sword high for I know it’s for others
And not just for me.

I am a spiritual warrior in training

Let the wind of His Spirit teach me to love
Let the water of His word refresh me
Let the fire burn away all the dross
Let the earth ground me

As I move my body upon the land
The rhythm of nature flows through my earth.
As my thoughts and words change, the clearer I see
Who I am and how I can be

A strong yet gentle, spiritual warrior

My words sing freedom and power to heal
Even years of neglect and not believing
That I am worthy, yes worthy, to be loved even cherished,
so trusting is not quite so scary.

I’ll continue to dance to nature’s sweet song
And allow the Spirit’s power to flow
In me, around me, and through me so that
The ripples of God’s love will expand

The circle of my life to what it can be.
It’s truly a miracle for all to see.
As my thoughts are refined and my spirit renewed,
I’ll be there for you when you’re ready too.

Yes, I’m a Spiritual Warrior.
