Appalachia Bare Summer Hiatus

We’ve all reached the midpoint of 2023, seen moons and days and times pass like a blur or a telling breeze. Together, our readers, subscribers, and contributors, along with all of us at Appalachia Bare, have lived each moment, weathered every hardship, and basked in many joys. Please forgive this editor when I dare to speak for everyone and say we are all grateful for the little blessings in our lives thus far.

The summer season is a time to sit back for a little while and relax, recover, and refresh–underneath a cool spot because it’s already H-O-T ? in these waking summer days. The time is upon us to craft, decorate, and fix little odds and ends, and that includes our labor of love, Appalachia Bare.

That being said, Appalachia Bare is taking our annual summer hiatus. We will return July 11, 2023, with bright and exceptional content, a fresh dig into the Daugherty saga, and various other creative pursuits from talented Appalachian people and/or mountain admirers.

We wish everyone safe journeys and good health in your own travels. In the meantime, please peruse our site at your leisure. We have some remarkable writing, artwork, photography, etc., by first-rate submitters.  I hope you enjoy our efforts here to promote all things Appalachia. Clicking the names below will take you to our staff and volunteer content. We are open for submissions year-round. Please know you can still submit your work at submissions@appalachiabare.com. We look forward to reviewing your creative endeavors upon our return.
