Powell Valley Scenic Overlook
Clouds pinwheel
atop mountain-pleated land,
celebrating the approaching rain.
They cast mercury shadows
across the summer-ripened valley.
Revelation
October fog
drapes gossamer fabric
across Appalachia’s
curves and mounds.
Sun pierces mist:
light through a lover’s skirt.
