Arboretum Prowl – A Jim Clark Gallery

Nestled south of Asheville, next to the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Bent Creek Experimental Forest, The North Carolina Arboretum’s gardens and wooded trails are one of my favorite photo hunting grounds.  Each visit reveals new subjects and new perspectives.  During the winter holiday season, the gardens are bedecked in a “Winter Lights” display, elaborate constellations of colorful lights, some flashing to synchronized music. The event is the arboretum’s biggest fundraiser. The show offers creative opportunities of a different sort, such as “light painting.”  The following images are a small sample of the many I’ve captured at the arboretum.

  1. Stunning, Jimmy! What an eye for detail you have. I’m always excited by the prospect of new submissions by you.

  2. Eddie thank you. Credit also goes to Delonda and Tom Anderson for the stylish format and gallery set up. They really make the photos “pop.”
